The game was tied at three with St. Anthony batting in the top of the seventh when captain Bobby Camisa singled on a 3-0 count, scoring the game winner. St. Ignatius mounted a rally in the bottom of the seventh, but Eric “Nails” Hastrup ran down a sinking line drive and St. Ant held on for the victory. St. Iggy captain and pitcher Bob McGuiness did all he could to keep his squad in the game, but Iggy lost despite out-hitting St Anthony 13 to nine. Hastrup and Mike Markowycz managed multiple hits for St. Ant. Bob “Cheezewiz” Cihanowyz, Ara Movsesian, Donnie “Softball” Rinaldo, and Rob Stratton all collected multiple hits for St Ignatius.

Four runs batted in from John “Greenie” Greenblatt helped lead St. Sebastian past St. Wolfgang. Sebastian tamed the Wolfpack by racking up nine extra base hits, including home runs from Greenblatt and Kevin Morris, triples from Ron Skwirut and “Tiny” Villegas, along with doubles from Mike Abram, Glenn Gang, and Matt Taylor. Joe Oporto (3-3 6RBI), Steve Pirella, Joe Ursino, Ed DeFrancesco, “Steady” Eddie Fernandez, and Rich Polhamus all managed multiple hits for St. Wolfgang, while Pat MacDonnell chipped in with a solo home run. After losing three of its first four games, Sebastian has rattled off four straight victories.

After winning just one of its first eight games, St. Vincent looked to spark its offense by inserting speedy Harold “Hop” Hopler into the leadoff spot. That moved paid off as Hopler went 4-5 to pace the Vinny’s offense. Hopler was also sharp on the mound for St. Vincent, limiting St. Geoge’s offense to 11 hits and 3 runs. Captain Keith Karyczak, Nate “Just great!” Mangiris, Daniel Roy, Rei Santiago, and Ian Mehok all collected multiple hits for St. Vinny. Jim Sosinski, Nam-June Joe, and Vru Baboomian each managed multiple hits for St. George.

St Vincent fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 10-5 loss to St. Francis on Friday. The league leading Frannies collected 20 hits, including multiple hit games from Tony “low rider” Perconte, Gus Alvarez, Rick Wustefeld, Tom Ulichny, Geoff Dickstein, and Aner Sousa. Perconte slugged a home run, while Dickstein legged out a pair of doubles. Daniel Roy, Russ Voorhees, Harold “Hop” Hopler, Keith Karyczak, and Dan Margolis each collected multiple hits for St Vincent.

Trailing 4-2, St. Joseph scored five runs in the fifth inning to secure the victory over St Wolfgang on Friday. The late rally was sparked by Gary Leichtling, Tom “Fozzy” Fazio, Dave Merkel, and Dave “beach body” Eckert who all collected RBIs in the inning. Leichtling, Eckert, Fazio, Chris Paterek, and Tom Swales each had multi-hit games for St. Joe. Pat MacDonnell, “Sweet” Louie Balestriere, Ed DeFrancesco, Colum Keough, Steve Pirella, Vinny Fumero, Eddie Fernandez, and Jimmy Barba each racked up multiple hits for St Wolfgang.
